The Artist Spotlight Series is back for 2025! Public programming will take place at Namba Performing Arts Space in Downtown Ventura.
Spotlight Talks are meet-the-artist interviews that conclude the formal FOTM documentation process. Each public interview captures the development, achievements, reflections and personal experiences of an artist before a live audience. Attendees have the opportunity to interact with the artists, participate in a question and answer session, and view original work.
After each Spotlight talk artists participate in an intimate AfterGLOW dinner where patrons have the opportunity to socialize and connect with them in a more candid setting. Hosted by FOTM patrons, space is limited.

2020 Spotlight Artists
History is Now: Special Artist Portrait Exhibition
This exhibition presents a collection of artists, meticulously curated from the Focus on the Masters Arts Archive & Library. Over the past three decades, Donna Granata (photographer and FOTM Founder) has dedicated her craft and passion to capturing the stories of artists and preserving their legacies for future generations. As we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the County of Ventura, this exhibition stands as a testament to the enduring creativity and cultural richness of our region. It serves as a reminder that art has the power to transcend time, space, and circumstance, serving as a unifying force that connects us all. From abstract painters to sculptors, from performance artists to photographers, this collection showcases the immense diversity and depth of our region’s creative minds. But beyond the portrayal of individual artists, these portraits offer something much more profound. They illuminate the symbiotic relationship between artists and the community they call home. The very act of capturing and exhibiting these images exemplifies the power of collaboration, forging a strong bond between artist and audience. It is a testament to the supportive and nurturing environment that fosters artistic growth. With great pride and enthusiasm we present to you this remarkable collection of portraits, a celebration of our county’s artistic heritage and an ode to the future of creativity in Ventura County. May it inspire us to continue supporting and nurturing the extraordinary artists of tomorrow, as their immense contributions to our community shape and enrich our lives for years to come.
