Three dynamic Ventura artists will open their studios to art lovers for a special visit to benefit the Focus on the Masters Arts Archive & Library education outreach.  The tour will begin at the Art City Sculpture Studios, a renowned artist enclave and studio complex, known as Ventura’s oldest artists’ collective.  We will visit with sculptor and Art City founder, Paul Lindhard, and one of the many fellow sculptors on site, Joe Adams.  Both artists are renowned for their large-scale, site-specific installations.

A short distance from Art City is the spacious studio of renowned realist painter Karen Kitchel.  We will visit with Karen as she shares her latest projects and the diverse work displayed in the studio.  Describing her work, the artist states:

“My mixed media paintings extend landscape painting traditions and propose new relationships to the locations we inhabit. Instead of illustrating distant views of generic scenery, this work places the viewer in the center of vivid sensations of the natural world. Whether a precisely rendered fragment or a dramatically enlarged specimen, I provide intimate, urgently specific encounters between human and botanical realms.”

Our visit with Karen will wrap with wine and light refreshments.
