philosophy, drawing, working in clay, preparing food, and conversation – all with a sense of how the most mundane aspects of life can be imbued with creativity. Participants will work with clay in her studio, study her art books, utilize her colored pencils to create drawings, be inspired by the amazing view of her beloved Happy Valley and Topa Topa, and prepare lunch in her kitchen.

All materials and a gourmet vegetarian communal lunch will be served.

No experience necessary.

Participants will experience how Beatrice Wood lived a life in which the arts and the everyday were seamlessly intertwined. You will be guided by Kevin Wallace, Director of the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts & Happy Valley Cultural Center along with Focus on the Masters Executive Director, Donna Granata and discuss Beatrice Wood – her philosophy on life, love, longevity, & legacy. At the end of the day, participants will leave the Center with valuable lessons in life and the arts, fully immersed in the world-view and processes of Beatrice Wood. Includes guided tour of Beatrice Wood’s Home, Permanent Collection, Studio, Library, and current exhibitions. Ceramic work created during experience will be fired for pick up at a later date.
