A Conversation with Kent Butler

Sunday, September 13, 2020 – 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Born in Gunnison Utah, Kent Butler developed a natural interest in nature, as well as the American west. The artist is best known for his unique and expressive use of color, as well as black and white drawings. Butler attend Art Center College of Design, studying commercial and fine art. His path to his studio practice includes owning a sign shop in Redondo Beach for about 15 years and working for NBC Studios doing concept sketches and storyboards. Kent and his artist wife Sharon live in Ojai and draw inspiration from their natural surroundings. Both are members of the acclaimed Ojai Studio Artists whose members open their studios the second weekend of October annually.
